What’s New: Fractional Laser Resurfacing
The Palomar Lux1540 Fractional™ laser is the latest generation in skin resurfacing technology. The Palomar™ fractional skin resurfacing laser targets aging, damaged skin by zeroing in on damaged tissue with microbeams of light and leaving the surrounding, healthy skin untouched. Following a treatment, the untreated skin tissue begins rapidly assisting the cells targeted by the laser to begin forming new collagen and elastic tissue, the main components of the skin that keep it looking young and healthy. This treatment is proving effective for reversing the appearance of photodamaged skin, including discoloration, wrinkles and fine lines, and is excellent for acne scarring. Other benefits include improvement in tone, texture, and pore size. Side effects of fractional rejuvenation are minimal and typically involve swelling and redness, which fades over several days. An average effective treatment regimen is 3 or 4 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. Over the course of three months, new collagen begins to form, creating healthy, more youthful skin.
